Members of the F1 Commission have until Friday to submit their e-vote concerning the 2017 engine regulations.
The Strategy Group and F1 Commission met to discuss the rules on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s deadline to have the plans for 2017 finalized.
A proposal addressing the cost, availability og supply, noise and performance equality of F1 engines was agreed by the Strategy Group.
However the F1 Commission did not have a quorum and was unable to vote. It is believed that the promoters where not present.
Instead a e-vote is currently being carried out with members having until lunchtime on Friday to leave their vote.
It is anticipated the proposal will get approval before being put before the World Motor Sport Council for ratification, most likely by e-vote.
Should everything progress as expected, it will mean the end of the road for independent engine proposal mooted late last year.
The remains confidence the 2017 rules can get final sign off ahead of Saturdays’s deadline, which was revised from February 29.
